stocks trading platform

Is there a SEC rule or regulation that says stocks can not be shorted under $5 a share?

The price of DEIX went under $5 a share back on Sep. 6, 2007 at the open and has stayed below $5 since yet short interest has gone up at times. I thought that to keep stocks from going into bankruptcy that the SEC said stocks were not allowed to be shorted by investors below $5 a share. I know that on the Scottrade trading platform that I can not short any stock under $5 a share. Is there a SEC rule or regulation that says stocks can not be shorted under $5 a share? If so, what is the number or name of the SEC regulation or rule?

First, the price of a stock has nothing to do with the company’s business. Trading on the market consists of stock changing hands from one investor to another, the company is not involved in this trading. Shorting a stock can not make a company go bankrupt.

Back to your question: The SEC has no such rule. Brokers are free to make any rules they want as long as the are at least as strict as SEC NASD and Exchange rules. Therefore, many brokers restrict activity in "low priced" stocks to protect both the firm and the client because low priced stocks are famous for being highly volatile. Exactly what the restrictions are and what "low priced" means varies from firm to firm.

I need the "URL of the MP3 feed" for radio station?

In the (ThinkorSwim) stock trading platform i use to day trade there is a spot where i can load the "URL of the MP3 feed for streaming audio" of a radio station, or whatever i want to listen to, over the Internet, on the computer, when i have the trading platform open. So i went to bloomberg.com and other financial sites to find the "URL of the MP3 feed" but i could not get it.–SO– my question is: #1- can someone recommend a good website to show me how to load the "URL of the MP3 feed" of a Internet radio station –or– tell me how to "getter done". #2- Anyone have a recommendation for a good financial/business/stock market (MP3) streaming audio feed. #3- do i have to be concerned about MALWARE through a (MP3) streaming audio feed? thanks for your time in answering this question. Stock Market: Trading System Users: What can you tell me?

I just have a few basic questions.

Did you buy one or construct your own?
What kind of percentage returns do you get, and what is your time frame?
How much maintenance is involved?
What software system, platform, or site did you use?
Does it matter which broker you use to execute automatic trades?
What market do you trade on?
Would you recommend others to do it?
If you were a trader beforehand, is it more reliable and better, and are purely statistical studies better than also using visual chart patterns and candlesticks?

Thanks!

I constructed my own.

Over the past 5 years I have achieved 202% gains, yes I trippled my money!

The system requires attention once per quarter.

I use Scottrade to trade stocks. My system is laid out on an Excel spreadsheet that I created.

I would recommend others use it.

Before discovering/creating this system, I was stumbling through stock investing and giving away my money.

What is the significance of a single share being traded on the stock market?

I’m not talking about stocks that may be worth hundreds of dollars each, rather ones that are quite cheap. Even worth only a few cents each. From time to time I see on my trading platform that there has been a trade of one singular share.
Perhaps it is done purely to make the charts look better from a trading analysis point of view. Or perhaps it signifies something else.
Am interested in anyones view……………

It makes no sense to trade a single share of a cheap stock. After the trading cost you would almost certainly lose money.

Are you sure the trade was one share and not one lot? It is quite common to see the number of shares listed by lots, so "1" would mean one lot or 100 shares.
